Progress so far

Camden Together sets out what the council and its partners will do to achieve the vision of a borough of opportunity. However we chose not to attach targets to those commitments. We felt five years is too long a time to plan activities in detail.

Instead Camden Together is a framework for all other strategies and plans, including important partnership plans (like Camden's Children and Young People's Plan) and individual organisations' plans (like the Council's  Corporate Plan).

Nevertheless there are two ways in which progress on the commitments is monitored. The key commitments are covered by our three year Local Area Agreement and Local Strategic Partnership reports cover individual Camden Together themes.

Local Area Agreement

Our Local Area Agreement (LAA) for 2008/9 to 2010/11 provides tangible measures of success for key Camden Together commitments by setting out the specific improvements that we want to see over the next three years and setting annual targets for improvement.

This doesn’t mean that other areas of work are not important, but that to improve lives in Camden, we need to focus on a small numbers of priorities. In addition, we recognise that we can only bring about real change by working in meaningful partnership around outcomes and this is the focus for the targets in our LAA.

For more information, visit the Local Area Agreement section of the Camden website.

Local Strategic Partnership reports

The Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) receives a progress report on a theme of the Community Strategy at every meeting. These reports give a comprehensive review of progress in that theme to date, bringing together quantitative and qualitative information from across the partnership.

You can view the reports published so far:

Forthcoming reports:

  • Camden Town Vision 12 February 2009
  • Benefiting from cultural and leisure opportunities including the London Olympics 23 April 2009

In addition, there will be two biennial progress reports in June 2009 and June 2011 covering the whole of the Community Strategy. They will be available here and on the Local Strategic Partnership section of the Camden website.
